Engr Adewale Zachariah started his career with the Federal Civil Service when he was employed under High Flyers Recruitment and deployed to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources as a Water Engineer in 2006 and grew through the ranks until early 2024 when he was appointed as a National Program Coordinator for the AfDB funded Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program.
Education
Engr Adewale attended Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin where he obtained Diploma Certificate in Agricultural and Water Resources Engineering. He obtained first Degree in Water Resources Management at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria where he graduated as the best graduating student and Master Degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He attended a series of WASH related professional short training courses and conferences in Africa and beyond. He is a registered Water Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers, and Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologist.
Work Experience
He is highly ambitious Water and Sanitation expert, with background in Water Resources Management, Hydrology and Environmental Engineering. Experience in WASH project development, implementation, management and sustainability as well as procurement.
He possesses more than twenty years of progressive experience in the water and sanitation project. He has been involved in many National and International financed projects over the years. This includes UNICEF, JICA and AfDB Water and Sanitation projects. He was actively participated at UNICEF supported Village Level Operation and Management of Handpump in Nigeria where water sector’s personnel capacity at sub national were built in handpump installation and maintenance as well as development of Handpump maintenance technical manual for the sector. He was part of the FMWR team that executed the JICA technical and administrative support to five states in Nigeria towards improvement of rural water supply.
Engr Adewale Zachariah is deeply involved in the implementation of AfDB funded Rural Water Supply and Sanitation in Nigeria. He participated in the successful completion of various AfDB supervision and appraisal missions. He is fully involved in procurement activities of the AfDB funded project which enable him to be conversant with the Bank’s procurement rules and procedures for goods, works and services.
